Abstract
The subject of this study is the information situation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. The aim is to identify the need for a high-quality information policy of the state concerning the process of reintegration of the population of the east into the information field of Ukraine. Besides military and diplomatic efforts for the maintenance of the territorial integrity of the Ukrainian state it`s important as soon as possible to reintegrate residents of the temporary occupied territories in the information space of Ukraine. Firstly, this process is necessary to ensure effective institutional basis, which allows the reintegration process to have systemic and effective character. In addition to public institutions, whose activities should be aimed directly at protecting Ukraine’s information space and counteracting any anti-Ukrainian propaganda, active participation in this process should take representatives of civil society. State information policy in this case should be based on the priorities and values of the population in every single region, not only with regard to national interests. In results, these actions should lead to gradual awareness of the people of temporarily occupied territories of their identity as Ukrainian, which are part of a single nation.
