Abstract

Resumo A partir do uso extensivo na Teoria do cinema da Alegoria da caverna apresentada por Platão em A República, o ensaio levanta uma série de questões sobre a pertinência desta analogia, e propõe em contraponto à sua recorrência alguns desenvolvimentos teóricos dispostos a partir da Política de Aristóteles. Palavras-chave : Aristóteles, Politica; Platão, A República, teoria do cinemaTaking into consideration the extensive use in Film Theory of the Allegory of the Cave presented in Plato’s The Republic, the essays raises a series of questions regarding the pertinence of this recurrent analogy, and proposes as a counterpoint some theoretical developments for Film Theory in the light of Aristotle’s Politics.
