Anne Pasquier | : Le sermon Dolbeau 26 provient d’un manuscrit datant de la deuxième moitié du xve siècle qui sortit de l’oubli grâce à la publication, en 1990, d’un catalogue de manuscrits de la Stadtbibliothek de Mayence. Découvert par François Dolbeau, ce sermonnaire contient 63 sermons d’Augustin et un de Césaire d’Arles. L’intérêt pour ces oeuvres est d’autant plus grand que plusieurs des sermons sont partiellement ou complètement inédits. C’est le cas du sermon D. 26 en lequel (...) s’élaborent plusieurs réflexions qu’Augustin exprimera par la suite dans la Cité de Dieu. Dans le cadre de cet article, seront examinés les thèmes et les enjeux identitaires que l’on peut déceler en particulier dans les chapitres 1 à 9 de ce sermon. | : The sermon called Dolbeau 26 is part of a manuscript dating from the second half of the 15th century which came out of oblivion thanks to the publication, in 1990, of a catalogue of manuscripts in the Stadtbibliothek Mainz. Discovered by François Dolbeau, this manuscript contains 62 different sermons from Augustine, and one from Caesarius of Arles. The fact that 26 of those sermons from Augustine are partially or completely unknown explains their great interest. This is the case of the sermon D. 26 in which Augustine develops many reflections that will be later expressed in the City of God. The concept of kenosis can be found in almost all over the ancient Christian literature, and especially the canonical gospels. This article explores this theme in a passage of the Gospel of John (chapter 20), in order to show how the motif of kenosis is actualized through the characters of Mary of Magdala and Christ. More generally, it starts from this passage in order to think about the notion of mimèsis and of representation of reality. These reflections are based on (...) Aristotle’s Poetics, which is the earliest surviving work on literary theory, especially on the plot. My purpose is to perceive how this motif of kenosis is put in writing in ancient Christianity and what specific literary ways of expressing it are used in the gospels, form and content being closely related. This paper takes the recent French elections as an opportunity to reflect on the nature of the presidential function in parliamentary democracies. The discrepancy between the winning candidate's pre-election declarations and his actual approach to his new function reflects a fundamental divergence in the possible interpretations of political representation. This divergence was made fully explicit and came to a head in the debate that opposed the two great jurists of the Weimar Republic, Hans Kelsen and Carl Schmitt. The theoretical literature on vertical relationships usually assumes that beliefs about secret contracts take specific forms. In a recent paper, Eguia et al. (Games Econ Behav 109:465–483,2018) propose a new selection criterion that does not impose any restriction on beliefs. In this article, we extend their criterion by generalizing it to risk-averse retailers, and we show that risk aversion modifies the size of the belief subsets that support each equilibrium. We conduct an experiment which revisits that of Eguia et al. (...) (Games Econ Behav 109:465–483,2018). We design a new treatment effect on equilibrium selection depending on the retailers’ risk sensitivity. Experimental results confirm the treatment effect: the more sensitivity there is towards risk, the more the equilibrium played is consistent with passive beliefs. In addition, extending Eguia et al.’s (Games Econ Behav 109:465–483,2018) criterion to risk-averse retailers improves its predictive power on the equilibria played, especially for a population of retailers with moderate to extreme risk aversion. In this paper, I take a critical look at Sartorio’s book Causation and Free Will (2016). Sartorio offers a rich defence of an actual-sequence view of freedom, which pays close attention to issues in the philosophy of causation and how they relate to freedom. I argue that although this focus on causation is illuminating, Sartorio’s project nevertheless runs into some serious difficulties. Perhaps most worrying amongst them is whether the agent-based reason-sensitivity account, offered by Sartorio, is consistent with Frankfurt-style cases (...) – the very cases which are provided as the sole reason to endorse an actual-sequence view of freedom. I suggest that given that powers and causation are so intimately bound together, the debate is skewed somewhat by thinking of these as rivals. (shrink)

Comme l'a écrit Jean Claude Passeron, quand la sociologie française s'attaque à la notion de populaire, «la morale s'en mêle»: le populaire conduit aux deux dérives symétriques et opposées du populisme et du légitimisme. Cette formulation du débat sur le populaire apparaît être spécifique à la France, et en partie due au fait que les échanges avec les sociologies de la culture anglo-saxonne sont restés faibles. À partir de quelques publications-clés dans chacune des traditions, cet article examine les divergences entre (...) les travaux en sociologie de la culture française, l'école anglaise des Cultural Studies, et les recherches américaines inspirées par l'interactionnisme. Il propose aussi de relier le parcours des recherches en sociologie des médias en France à travers cette histoire plus générale du sous-traitement de la catégorie du populaire dans la sociologie de la culture hexagonale.As Jean Claude Fasseron wrote, when French sociology tackles the concept of popular, "morals interferes himself: the popular one led to the two symmetrical and opposed drifts populism and legitimism. This formulation of the debate on the popular one appears being specific to France, and partly due to the fact that the exchanges with sociologies of the Anglo-Saxon culture remained weak. From some key publications in each tradition, this article examines the divergences between work in sociology of the French culture, the English school of Cultural Studies, and the American researches inspired by interactionnism. It also proposes to connect the map of research in sociology of media in France through this more general history of the under-processing of the category of popular in sociology of the hexagonal culture. From the observation that global education systems are failing to produce beaming adults, this article questions the meaning of the words generally used to discuss education and new teaching methods. Sidestepping the panacea of technology as the holy grail, it suggests ideas for exploring other possible educational forms, such as those guided by the renewal of humanism or neurosciences. Then, this article presents a model of understanding of man and his activities, leading to the conception of a work system that (...) makes the most of the evolution of contemporary sciences, such as transdisciplinary thinking and transpersonal psychology. It gives an example of a concrete organization in vocational training for future teachers and proposes an evaluation of five years of practices that have encouraged transformations towards individual and collective achievement.
