La Politique de la Culture de Masse selon Theodor Adorno et Walter Benjamin.Youli Rapti - 2008 - Proceedings of the Xxii World Congress of Philosophy 1:289-295.

The coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic has fueled anti-Asian, especially anti-Chinese sentiments worldwide, which may negatively impact diasporic Chinese youths’ adjustment and prosocial development. This study examined the association between compassion, discrimination and prosocial behaviors in diasporic Chinese youths during the COVID-19 pandemic. 360 participants participated and completed the multi-country, cross-sectional, web-based survey between April 22 and May 9, 2020, the escalating stage of the pandemic. Reducing Objectification Could Tackle Stigma in the COVID-19 Pandemic: Evidence From China.Youli Chen, Jiahui Jin, Xiangyang Zhang, Qi Zhang, Weizhen Dong & Chun Chen - 2021 - Frontiers in Psychology 12.
Stigmatization associated with the coronavirus disease 2019 is expected to be a complex issue and to extend into the later phases of the pandemic, which impairs social cohesion and relevant individuals' well-being. Identifying contributing factors and learning their roles in the stigmatization process may help tackle the problem. This study quantitatively assessed the severity of stigmatization against three different groups of people: people from major COVID-19 outbreak sites, those who had been quarantined, and healthcare workers; explored the factors associated with (...)

On the Possibility of Marxist Ethics.Buket Korkut Raptis - 2018 - Beytulhikme An International Journal of Philosophy 8 (1):131-155.
Marx avoided elaborating an ethical theory and criticized utopian socialism. Although Marx’s attitude towards these two issues is discussed separately in the literature, we will argue that they stem from the same ground in Marx. It is Marx’s devotion to scientific socialism that grounds his criticisms. We will first discuss the opposition between utopian and scientific socialism as Marx understood it. After elaborating some Marxist approaches in this debate, we will argue that any attempt at reconciling Marxism with ethics must (...)

The Relevance of Emotions for Ethical Discourse: A Thesis in Philosophical Anthropology.Buket Korkut Raptis - 2020 - Studia Philosophica Wratislaviensia 15 (1):19-26.
In this paper I propose a thesis in philosophical anthropology that aims to explain the relevance of emotions in ethical discourse. I introduce the concept of Gönül which, in Turkish language, stands primarily for the faculty of love and, generally, for that of emotions. In my analysis, I rely on the etymological connections between certain concepts in Turkish so as to understand the relevance of love in particular and emotions in general for ethical discourse. I argue that it is not (...)

Philosophical Anthropology and the Human Body: The Contribution of Helmuth Plessner to a Music Education beyond the Dualism.Theocharis Raptis - 2019 - Philosophy of Music Education Review 27 (1):68.
Abstract:In this paper I will explore the contribution of philosophical anthropology to music education research which, over recent years, has been showing an increasing interest in the human body. In order to do this I will especially be drawing on the ideas of one of its pioneers, Helmuth Plessner. Plessner’s philosophy should be understood as an effort to overcome the Cartesian dualism ‘mind/body’ and to highlight the unity of a human being and her/his relation to her/his environment. With his central (...)
