東亞的儒家傳統是否「阻礙」或「促進」了科學發展？ 本書拒絕為此一問題給出片面、簡化的答案， 而著重釐清儒家思想、價值和制度在科學發展中所扮演的角色 過去數十年來，許多東亞國家取得傲人的經濟成就，同時也使得人們相信，支配此區域達數世紀之久的儒家思想，對於經濟奇蹟必定有正面作用。關於儒家思想――其概念、德性、預設、信仰、取向等――與近現代東亞之經濟、 產業、科技發展間的關聯，學界已有許多討論；透過這些討論，傳統東亞的世界觀如何滋生近代科學等課題，也受到熱切的關注。 這些討論當然有助於我們了解傳統中國的社會和文化，且深入儒家傳統的各個方面，但也並非無可指責。例如，相關討論經常只流於表面，甚至感情用事；在方法層次上，則傾向於一口氣回答所有問題。也就是說，關於東亞文化 與社會，關於儒家傳統以及其中的科學發展，堅實的學術討論其實不太多見。 本書所收錄十三篇論文，即是針對上述問題而發。書中多數論文著眼於科學和儒學間的關係，特別是儒家思想、價值和制度在科學發展中所扮演的角色。作者強調，在東亞世界，科學和儒學的關係錯綜複雜，不僅隨著時間變化， 更因人、因主題而呈現多種形態。我們不能過分地簡化科學和儒學的聯繫，例如將儒學視為有利或者有礙於科學發展的要素。欲究明兩者關聯，除了檢視儒學本身，更須涉及其他東亞社會和文化要素，如宗教、官僚體系等。本書 各篇或採取比較眼光，或討論關於跨文化比較的問題，並且著意揭示：儘管隨意的比較有其潛在危險必須克服，但為了深入理解東亞，比較性的研究不但可能，而且應當為之。.

The mechanism influencing resource bricolage driving low-cost breakthrough innovations remains unclear. By introducing exaptation and organizational agility, this study creates a regulated mediation model, explores effects of resource bricolage on low-cost breakthrough innovations, and analyzes the moderating effect of organizational agility and mediation effect of exaptation. The results revealed that resource bricolage exerted a significant positive impact on low-cost breakthrough innovations, and exaptation played a mediation role between resource bricolage and low-cost breakthrough innovations. In addition, both marketing agility and operational (...) agility positively regulated the correlation between resource bricolage and exaptation. Further research revealed that the mediation effect of exaptation was positively regulated by marketing agility and operational agility, respectively. Overall, this study enriches the discussion of the impact mechanism of breakthrough innovations by resource bricolage and provides valuable enlightenment for enterprises to implement innovation-driven development strategies in the context of economic transformation. This paper investigates the correlation between the quality of corporate social responsibility disclosure and financial performance. It also investigates the moderating role of chief executive officer power in the relationship between the quality of CSR disclosure and firm value in Chinese listed companies. The evidential research used the up-to-date sample of unbalanced findings for the period of 2014–2020, from the registered Chinese firms in the Shenzhen and Shanghai Stock Exchanges as samples for the study. As a starting point technique, the (...) STATA 15 has been used to test pooled ordinary least squares regression on a sample of Chinese listed companies. We use 1-year lagged regression and two SLS regressions to monitor the potential endogeneity problem. The imbalanced data set was received from the China Stock Market and Accounting Research web page, which is the most significant source of information for Chinese publicly listed firms. Data on CSR information items and media reporting are compiled manually. The findings of the study revealed that there are positive FP consequences for the companies engaged in the quality of CSR disclosure. We also report that higher CEO power negatively enhances the quality of CSR disclosure effect on the FP of FV. The research investigates the impact of CSR disclosure and FP by presenting evidence of the moderating role of CEO power. Therefore, it is suggested that a higher law for CSR engagement and disclosure be implemented in China, and robust measures for the implementation of CEO power, although there are financial advantages to be gained. A key relevance to the empirical quality of CSR disclosure research can be recognized as the moderating role of CEO power in the quality of CSR disclosure, FP, and FV in the context of Chinese study. The findings are robust with the use of an instrumental variable method. (shrink)

Recent challenges to Chomsky's poverty of the stimulus thesis for language acquisition suggest that children's primary data may carry “indirect evidence” about linguistic constructions despite containing no instances of them. Indirect evidence is claimed to suffice for grammar acquisition, without need for innate knowledge. This article reports experiments based on those of Reali and Christiansen (2005), who demonstrated that a simple bigram language model can induce the correct form of auxiliary inversion in certain complex questions. This article investigates the nature (...) of the indirect evidence that supports this learning, and assesses how reliably it is available. Results confirm the original finding for one specific sentence type but show that the model's success is highly circumscribed. It performs poorly on inversion in related constructions in English and Dutch. Because other, more powerful statistical models have so far been shown to succeed only on the same limited subset of cases as the bigram model, it remains to be seen whether stimulus richness can be substantiated more generally.
