: Con este artículo confío en haber sometido a discusión por primera vez la tesis expresada en el título sobre el nacimiento de la filosofía potmoderna desde el espíritu del arte moderno. Trato de justificar esta tesis en cuatro apartados. Primero intento apoyar mi interpretación en un prominente autor de la postmodernidad filosófica: Lyotard. En segundo lugar la completo incluyendo otros autores: Foucault y Derrida. En tercer lugar me pregunto qué significa a la larga el origen estético para el pensamiento (...) postmoderno. ¿Queda acuñado estéticamente de manera especial? ¿Y sucede esto -si sucede- en un sentido dudoso o en un sentido ventajoso? The essay questions some aspects in the current propagation of a "return of beauty" and suggests that in fact there has merely been a boost in the discourse on beauty – whilst beauty itself has permanently and abundantly been around. Modern objections to beauty did not do away with beauty altogether but only attacked established types of beauty in favor of other ones. The paper critically discusses some effects of the present re-appraisal of beauty that are devastating to the perception (...) and production of art. Finally, it is recommended that we devote more attention to the phenomenon of breathtaking beauty and the fact of its universal appreciation without limitation to cultural context. (shrink)

Der Essay thematisiert die Modifikationen, denen Tomasello seine Bestimmung des Humanspezifikums sukzessiv zu unterziehen genötigt war, und vermutet, dass den Verschiebungen ein prinzipielles Manko zu Grunde liegt. Während Tomasello erstaunlicherweise keine evolutionstheoretische Erklärung des putativen Humanspezifikums bietet , wird alternativ skizziert, wie sich die besondere Natur des Menschen während der protokulturellen Periode bis hin zum Durchstarten der kulturellen Evolution herausgebildet hat.
