Diffractive technospaces: a feminist approach to the mediations of space and representation.Federica Timeto - 2015 - Burlington, VT: Ashgate.
Articulating a non-representational perspective on knowledge production and artistic practices, combined with an analysis of space, this book offers a new performative and relational re-turn to representation in contemporary technospaces. The radically materialist, posthumanist and performative position from which this situated aesthetics of technospaces is elaborated, aligns this book not only with non-representational theory, but also with the theories of material feminism, feminist geography, situated epistemologies, science and technology studies, actor-network theory, performance studies and new media studies.

Implicit Mentalizing in Patients With Schizophrenia: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.Timea Csulak, András Hajnal, Szabolcs Kiss, Fanni Dembrovszky, Margit Varjú-Solymár, Zoltán Sipos, Márton Aron Kovács, Márton Herold, Eszter Varga, Péter Hegyi, Tamás Tényi & Róbert Herold - 2022 - Frontiers in Psychology 13.
IntroductionMentalizing is a key aspect of social cognition. Several researchers assume that mentalization has two systems, an explicit one and an implicit one. In schizophrenia, several studies have confirmed the deficit of explicit mentalizing, but little data are available on non-explicit mentalizing. However, increasing research activity can be detected recently in implicit mentalizing. The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis is to summarize the existing results of implicit mentalizing in schizophreniaMethodsA systematic search was performed in four major databases: MEDLINE, (...)

  29. Diffracting the rays of technoscience: a situated critique of representation.Federica Timeto - 2011 - Poiesis and Praxis 8 (2-3):151-167.
This essay focuses on the possibility of adopting a representational approach for technoscience, in which representation is considered as a situated process of dynamic “intra-action” (Barad 2007 ). Re-elaborating the recent critiques of representationalism (Thrift 2008 ), my analysis begins by analysing Hayles’s situated model of representation from an early essay where she explains her definition of constrained constructivism (Hayles [ 1991 ] 1997). The essay then discusses the notions of figuration and diffraction and the way they are employed by (...)

This paper explains through conceptualization of the texts how methodological factors ensure realization of the well-considered ideas through the continuous synchronization with the interdisciplinary space, religious communications. It reveals the concomitant involvement of the "few processes simultaneity" including the complex of temporithmics. The proposed subject has not actually been studied from the heuristic standpoint. And, in the meantime, without conceptualization of how, to what extent and under what emerged situations methodological factors interconnect episodically, in segments or totally it is difficult (...)

Infection control measures in times of antimicrobial resistance: a matter of solidarity.Marcel Verweij, Marlies Hulscher, Aura Timen & Babette Rump - 2020 - Monash Bioethics Review 38 (Suppl 1):47-55.
Control measures directed at carriers of multidrug-resistant organisms are traditionally approached as a trade-off between public interests on the one hand and individual autonomy on the other. We propose to reframe the ethical issue and consider control measures directed at carriers an issue of solidarity. Rather than asking “whether it is justified to impose strict measures”, we propose asking “how to best care for a person’s carriership and well-being in ways that do not imply an unacceptable risk for others?”. A (...)

Timelines: Short Essays and Verse in the Philosophy of Time.Edward A. Francisco - forthcoming - Morrisville, North Carolina: Lulu Press.
Timelines is an inquiry into the nature of time, both as an apparent feature of the external physical world and as a fundamental feature of our experience of ourselves in the world. The principal argument of Timelines is that our coventional ideas about time are largely mistaken and that what we think of as independent physical time is actually our calibration of a certain relation between events. Namely, the relation between time-keeping events and the causal sequential differences of physical processes (...)

This paper suggests that time could have a much richer mathematical structure than that of the real numbers. Clark & Read (1984) argue that a hypertask (uncountably many tasks done in a finite length of time) cannot be performed. Assuming that time takes values in the real numbers, we give a trivial proof of this. If we instead take the surreal numbers as a model of time, then not only are hypertasks possible but so is an ultratask (a sequence which (...)

Ethics of infection control measures for carriers of antimicrobial drug–Resistant organisms.Babette Rump, Aura Timen, Marlies Hulscher & Marcel Verweij - 2018 - Emerging Infectious Diseases 24 (9).
Many countries have implemented infection control measures directed at carriers of multidrug-resistant organisms. To explore the ethical implications of these measures, we analyzed 227 consultations about multidrug resistance and compared them with the literature on communicable disease in general. We found that control measures aimed at carriers have a range of negative implications. Although moral dilemmas seem similar to those encountered while implementing control measures for other infectious diseases, 4 distinct features stand out for carriage of multidrug-resistant organisms: carriage presents (...)
