An antidote to the emerging two tier organ donation policy in Canada: the Public Cadaveric Organ Donation Program.S. Giles - 2005 - Journal of Medical Ethics 31 (4):188-191.
In Canada, as in many other countries, there exists an organ procurement/donation crisis. This paper reviews some of the most common kidney procurement and allocation programmes, analyses them in terms of public and private administration, and argues that privately administered living donor models are an inequitable stopgap measure, the good intentions of which are misplaced and opportunistic. Focusing on how to improve the publicly administered equitable cadaveric donation programme, and at the same time offering one possible explanation for its current (...)

    If You’re Not Part of the Solution.Sarah Giles - 2013 - Narrative Inquiry in Bioethics 3 (2):11-13.
In lieu of an abstract, here is a brief excerpt of the content:If You’re Not Part of the Solution...Sarah GilesI worked on an island that lured people to their deaths. I have come to realize that there are certain resources that every population must have in order to continue to exist. Health care providers are needed if a group is to continue to reside in one place. Without nurses and doctors, people tend to refuse to go to a location or (...)

Prioritizing Indecent Image Offenders: A Systematic Review and Economic Approach to Understand the Benefits of Evidence-Based Policing Strategies.Susan Giles & Laurence Alison - 2021 - Frontiers in Psychology 12.
In 2013, there were an estimated 50,000 individuals involved in downloading and sharing indecent images of children in the United Kingdom. This poses challenges for limited police resources. What is currently lacking is a clear (...)
