Im Zentrum der Untersuchung steht die Philosophie des modernen japanischen Philosophen Kitar??o?? Nishida und ihr Bezug zur Frage nach der Interkulturalität. Nishidas Philosophie ist einerseits _interkulturell orientierte Philosophie_ - entstanden aus der interkulturellen Begegnung zwischen westlicher und japanischer Kultur im Rahmen des modernen Japans - und andererseits bietet sie einen Ansatz zu einer _Philosophie der Interkulturalität_. Der Ansatz gibt einen neuen Blick auf die globalen geschichtlichen Vorgänge frei - gesehen durch die Augen eines außereuropäischen Denkers. Mit Nishidas Philosophie und ihrer (...) geschichtlichen Stellung wird somit die Frage nach der Moderne im interkulturellen Kontext auf neue Weise virulent, so daß sich neue Fragehorizonte für das Denken der Gegenwart ergeben. Die Zeit der denkerischen Großraumvergleiche zwischen Ost und West ist vorbei. Stattdessen sind vielmehr philosophische Auseinandersetzungen wichtig, die philologisch fundiert anhand von Sachproblemen Grundlagen für ein interkulturell orientiertes Philosophieren erarbeiten. - Rolf Elberfeld entwickelt die methodischen Voraussetzungen, um das Phänomen der Zeit im Buddhismus philosophisch zu thematisieren, und diskutiert auf dieser Grundlage Texte zum Zeit-Phänomen von vier Denkern aus Indien, China und Japan, wobei vor allem der berühmte Text >Uji.

Der kulturbegriff wurde in der deutschen Wissenschaftssprache bis weit ins 19. Jahrhundert ausschließlich als Singularetantum verwendet. Jacob Burkhardt prägte den Plural in einer Vorlesung von 1868, die Nietzsche in der Wiederholung von 1870/71 hörte. Er übernahm den Plural 'Kulturen' in seinen Wortschatz und entwickelt daraus ab 1876 eine Philosophie der Kulturen. In einem ersten Schritt entwickelt der Aufsatz sein kritisches Verständnis zum Plural der Kulturen bis 1876. Im zweiten Schritt wird der neu gewendete Kulturenbegriff ab 1876 entfaltet und der sich (...) daran anschließende neue Subjektbegriff. Im abschließenden Ausblick wird die Aufmerksamkeit auf den philosophischen Ertrag der Kulturenphilosophie Nietzsches im Hinblick auf das aktuelle Thema 'Interkulturealität' gelenkt.Until far into the nineteenth century, the concept of "culture" was only used in the singular. Jacob Burckhardt coined the plural in a lecture course from 1868. After attending later version of this course in 1870/71, Nietzsche adopted the plural into his vocabulary and began developing a philosophy of "cultures" in 1876. The first section of the paper follows Nietzsche's attitude towards a plurality of cultures up until 1876. The second section examines Nietzsche's new use of the plural form and the correspondingly new concept of the subject from 1876 onward. In the 20th century the European sciences have tried in different ways to develop post-colonial forms of knowledge. Since the 1920s, under headings such as »intercultural«, »multicultural« and »transcultural«, discourses have arisen in the USA and in Europe in which, until the present, new perspectives and structures in the sciences have developed. The article offers, on one hand, a discourse analysis of these three headings until 1980 and makes clear by way of examples how complicated and deep the challenges are (...) for knowledge discourses in Europe within the scope of the research perspective of »interculturality«. Depuis le début du XXI e siècle, la globalisation est devenue un thème central dans les sciences humaines, même si la mondialisation croissante des discours dans les sciences humaines apparaît en réalité dès le XX e siècle. Dans le domaine de la philosophie, la mondialisation du cadre thématique a été encouragée en particulier par les Congrès mondiaux de philosophie depuis 1900. Sous l’impulsion de ces évolutions, les histoires de différentes philosophies ont émergé à travers le monde et dans de nombreuses (...) langues différentes. En outre, des ouvrages d’histoires globales de la philosophie se multiplient depuis une vingtaine d’années. Pour faire face à cette diversité thématique dans la philosophie d’aujourd’hui, l’approche d’une phénoménologie transformative est abordée à la fin de l’article. (shrink)

Denegations” Derrida used the metaphor chora from Plato’s Timaeus (49a and following) to continue his struggle with the metaphysics of presence. In 1926 Nishida, the founder of the Japanese Kyōto School, used the same metaphor to create a new foundation of philosophy. Nishitani, a disciple of Nishida, developed the work of Nishida in close connection to Zen Buddhist experiences. Derrida tries to show the limits of (...) language within the game of language, whereas Nishitani starts from an experience beyond language, but tries to make it clear in the game of language. Derrida tries to destroy the limits of Western thinking within the dimension of language, whereas Nishitani tries to open up the Zen Buddhist tradition for philosophy. The approach of a "transformative phenomenology" was wonfrom a comprehensive analysis of Asien philosophies. In most Asianphilosophies the knowledge about life is not only a descriptive onebut rather a transformative knowledge. This means that the analysisof the life changes and realizes our life in a new way and transformsit from within. It is tried in using the approach of eastasienphilosophies as an startingpoint to deepen and transform certaintrends of phenomenology. Going beyond a "descriptive" and"hermeneutical phenomenology" a "transformative phenomenology"is proposed in (...) which the process of its own execution will be aconstitutive element of the method itself. The analysis of phenomenaisn't longer an act of pure objectivation but a transformation for myperception and existence. The transformation which is performed bythe phenomenological work is in this way always connected with myway to live. In the work I encounter my own experience with allpossible consequences which an intensive meeting can have.Phenomenology don't mean any longer to describe phenomena as a"pure spectator" but transform myself as a process of Bildung withinthe encounter with my own social, bodily and thinking experience.
