In 2010, the Eurozone became the epicentre of the world crisis. The vulnerability of Europe appears to be linked to the specific institutional arrangement which organises monetary, financial and budgetary policies within the Eurozone. This article tries to understand the evolution of theeuduring a short but decisive historical sequence in a theoretical framework that puts elements of Gramsci’s reflections on the theme of crisis, and especially his notion of ‘Caesarism’, at its centre. It addresses the current debate concerning the relationships (...) between democratic politics and neoliberalism, while focusing on how the radicalisation of the crisis put at stake the co-construction of capitalism and representative democracy in the Western world sincewwii. L'oeuvre de Nicos Poulantzas (1936-1979) alimente aujourd'hui au plan international les recherches marxistes parmi les plus novatrices. Poulantzas a fait évoluer le marxisme sur des voies inexplorées, tout en l'ouvrant à des influences extérieures, comme celle de Michel Foucault. Son oeuvre se situe à la charnière de deux époques : le capitalisme d'après-guerre, avec son cycle de croissance ininterrompu de trois décennies, et la période de crise débutée dans les années 1970, dont nous ne sommes pas encore sortis. C'est ce (...) qui confère à la pensée de Poulantzas sa grande actualité. Aujourd'hui, de nouvelles générations de chercheurs partent à la découverte de cette pensée, et cherchent à la mettre à contribution pour comprendre les évolutions du capitalisme contemporain. C'est dans ce mouvement de redécouverte du marxisme que cet ouvrage s'inscrit. (shrink)

Cet article porte sur certains aspects de la réception de Gramsci en France. Cette réception s’effectue dans le champ politique aussi bien qu’académique, Gramsci étant non seulement un classique des sciences sociales, mais aussi une figure politique. Par ailleurs, elle prend place dans un contexte intellectuel où d’autres penseurs, tels que Pierre Bourdieu, développent sur certains thèmes des idées proches des siennes. L’argument central de l’article est que Gramsci, Bourdieu et les cultural studies forment une « constellation » d’auteurs et (...) de concepts, qu’il est fécond dans le contexte français de penser conjointement. In the midst of the current ecological crisis, there is often lofty talk of the need for humanity to ‘overcome its divisions’ and work together to tackle the big challenges of our time. But as this new book by Razmig Keucheyan shows, the real picture is very different. Just take the case of the siting of toxic waste landfills in the United States: if you want to know where waste is most likely to be dumped, ask yourself where Blacks, Hispanics, (...) Native Americans and other racial minorities live and where the poorest neighbourhoods are. Erik Olin Wright est, avec Fredric Jameson, David Harvey ou Perry Anderson, l’une des figures majeures du marxisme anglo-américain contemporain. Mais il est l’une des moins connues en France. La parution d’ Utopies réelles aux éditions la Découverte en 2017, dans une collection dirigée par Christian Laval et Laurent Jeanpierre, marque à cet égard un tournant.
