Peter Berkowitz’s book is about the “moral intention that gives birth to and governs Nietzsche’s thought”. Bracing his book by an introduction and conclusion, he divides it into two parts. The first comprises individual chapters on what Berkowitz calls Nietzsche’s “histories.” These are on the ethics of history, the ethics of art, the ethics of morality and the ethics of religion.

Todo ato da vida passa pelo mental, diria Nietzsche (GM); e, tratar do psíquico é, necessariamente, falar em sexualidade (por meio dos impulsos) – defende Freud. Partindo desses dois pressupostos, surge o problema: será a vontade de potência a raiz dos instintos de vida e de morte? As duas construções teóricas parecem se aproximar, e, no entanto, possuem finalidades distintas. Em uma linha freudiana, a mobilização instintual se daria em nome do prazer, enquanto que, para Nietzsche, o objetivo de todo (...) impulso é sempre a obtenção de mais poder (expansão das forças que compõem a vontade de potência). Em sendo assim, através de uma metodologia bibliográfica e de uma análise de dados qualitativa, o presente trabalho pretende expor, a título de objetivos específicos, contornos iniciais, de um lado, sobre os instintos freudianos, e, de outro, considerações aproximadas sobre a vontade de potência. A título de objetivo geral, procura analisar como essas duas construções teóricas se fundem, buscando verificar as possibilidades de criação teórica de um possível “caminho do meio”: uma aproximação das duas finalidades em um só ato – obtenção de prazer e aumento de poder. RESUMEN Se analizan los textos de Rafael Gutiérrez-Girardot sobre F. Nietzsche en torno a la tragedia y el pesimismo. Esta aproximación se elabora a partir de tres temas: estilo, nihilismo y estética. Se argumenta que la interpretación de Gutiérrez-Girardot sobre Nietzsche impide que este sea visto solo como un crítico literario. Asimismo, este trabajo brinda el tono a la escritura de Rafael Gutiérrez Girardot y, de este modo, configura su estilo personal. ABSTRACT The article analyzes Rafael Gutiérrez-Girardot's texts on F. (...) Nietzsche's reflections regarding tragedy and pessimism, on the basis of three topics: style, nihilism, and aesthetics. It argues that Gutiérrez-Girardot's interpretation of Nietzsche proves that the former is not merely a literary critic, and that those texts shape the tone and personal style of Gutiérrez Girardot's writing. This article approaches the concept of "unity of stile" forged by Nietzsche in his writtings when he was professor at Basel university. It aims to show the connections between such concept and his defense of the necessity of educating the insticts. It is necessary to understand the duplicity of apollinean and dionysian beyond the limits of the tragic art.O presente artigo aborda a concepção de "unidade de estilo" forjada por Nietzsche nos escritos da época de professorado na Universidade de Basiléia. Pretende-se mostrar a conexão entre tal concepção e a defesa da necessidade de educação dos instintos, nesse momento da obra ainda fortemente associada ao conjunto de um povo ou cultura; no caso, a cultura grega. Ao centro, o desafio de se compreender a duplicidade de apolíneo e dionisíaco, para além da esfera estrita da arte trágica. (shrink)

It also explains the Polian prosecution of his theory of knowledge and his ontology contents in this book.
