Richard Schacht and I have for some time gone back and forth about Nietzsche’s purported Lamarckianism, especially in discussion periods at various conferences—he claiming that Nietzsche was a Lamarckian, and I responding that I just don’t see the evidence. So I am happy to have the opportunity to debate the issue with him in a forum that allows us to look at the evidence in detail.
