    One of the predominating ethical principles in contemporary western culture is the proclamation of the respect for human dignity. It is emphasized as the universal principle of human relationships, its importance being stressed also in specific relationships concerning human care.   10. The sense of life, or the sense of death? Semantic dialectics of life and death.M. Nemcekova - 2000 - Filozofia 55 (6):484-493.
    The paper examines the dialectics of the sense of life and death. In the analysis three mutually dependent points of view are applied: existential , moral and psychological ones. The author focuses on the individual confronting the impending unescapa- bili_ty of death in an existential condition of a fatal desease. On this practical level it is concerned with the knowing and understanding the proces of dying and its inner dimension as well as its external determination.
