Who made the paintings: Artists or artificial intelligence? The effects of identity on liking and purchase intention.Li Gu & Yong Li - 2022 - Frontiers in Psychology 13.
Investigating how people respond to and view AI-created artworks is becoming increasingly crucial as the technology’s current application spreads due to its affordability and accessibility. This study examined how AI art alters people’s evaluation, purchase intention, and collection intention toward Chinese-style and Western-style paintings, and whether art expertise plays a role. Study 1 recruited participants without professional art experience and found that those who made the paintings would not change their liking rating, purchase intention, and collection intention. In addition, they (...)

Scale development of apparel customization brand value: From the perspectives of practitioners and consumers.Hao Li, Li-Wen Gu, Xiao-Gang Liu & Yan-Wen Ruan - 2022 - Frontiers in Psychology 13.
China apparel customization brands have been recently growing in massive quantities despite being in their infancy stages of brand value building. Although scholars have proven brand value’s importance in sustainable brand growth, studies on the specific context of CACBs are still limited. This research proposes a conceptual framework of CACBs’ brand value measured dimension based on previous studies and divides brand value into both general and specific dimensions. Accordingly, qualitative and quantitative studies were conducted from the perspectives of practitioners and (...)

European and Chinese philosophy: origins and intersections.Zhongying Cheng, Eric Sean Nelson & Linyu Gu (eds.) - 2013 - Malden, MA: Wiley.
The Journal of Chinese Philosophy initiates this volume on the origins of philosophy and their relations in philosophical languages, be it Chinese or Greek or European as not merely derived from the Greek. Given this understanding we see how a philosophical issue could be discussed significantly from both the European-Western position and the Chinese perspective. Each position and perspective embodies a different historicity and viewpoint as experienced in the vision and pursuit of reality and humanity. The contrast between the European (...)

Computing Some Degree-Based Topological Indices of Honeycomb Networks.Lili Gu, Shamaila Yousaf, Akhlaq Ahmad Bhatti, Peng Xu & Adnan Aslam - 2022 - Complexity 2022:1-13.
A topological index is a numeric quantity related with the chemical composition claiming to correlate the chemical structure with different chemical properties. Topological indices serve to predict physicochemical properties of chemical substance. Among different topological indices, degree-based topological indices would be helpful in investigating the anti-inflammatory activities of certain chemical networks. In the current study, we determine the neighborhood second Zagreb index and the first extended first-order connectivity index for oxide network O X n, silicate network S L n, chain (...)

Meridian-Specific and Post-Optical Deficits of Spatial Vision in Human Astigmatism: Evidences From Psycho-Physical and EEG Scalings.Li Gu, Yiyao Wang, Lei Feng, Saiqun Li, Mengwei Zhang, Qingqing Ye, Yijing Zhuang, Zhong-Lin Lu, Jinrong Li & Jin Yuan - 2021 - Frontiers in Psychology 12.
Previous studies have demonstrated that orientation-specific deprivation in early life can lead to neural deficits of spatial vision in certain space, and can even result in meridional amblyopia. Individuals with astigmatism are the optimal and natural models for exploring this asymmetric development of spatial vision in the human visual system. This study aims to assess the contrast sensitivity function and EEG signals along two principal meridians in participants with regular astigmatism when being optimal optical corrected. Twelve participants with astigmatism and (...)

The brain dynamics of trust decisions and outcome evaluation in narcissists.Fengbo Guo, Ziyang Yang, Tengfei Liu & Li Gu - 2022 - Frontiers in Psychology 13.
Individuals with narcissism are, by definition, self-centered, focus on self-benefit, and demonstrate less prosocial behaviors. Trusting strangers is risky, as it can result in exploitation and non-reciprocation. Thus, the trust may be antagonistic to narcissism. However, how narcissists make the choice to trust remains to be elucidated. The current study examined 44 participants playing as trustors in one-shot trust games, and their electroencephalograms were recorded. Individuals high in narcissism exhibited less trust toward strangers, especially following gaining feedback for their trust. (...)

This article speaks to contemporary women and men, who both suffer from gender issues such as disconnection, separation, oppression and who forever wait for a so‐called “tomorrow.” Through comparing process thought and Chinese philosophy, my study analyzes how process feminism synthesizes our demands for inter‐connection and how it alerts our narrow desires in seeking “a way out.” I further challenge a fundamental weakness in this genre of Whitehead's organic multiplicity by contributing “creative harmony” of yin 陰 and yang 陽 in (...)

Optimization of Cross-Border e-Commerce Logistics Supervision System Based on Internet of Things Technology.Pingping Sun & Lingang Gu - 2021 - Complexity 2021:1-11.
Based on the Internet of Things technology, this paper proposes building a cross-border e-commerce logistics supervision system and determines the evaluation index system from the overall framework design of the system, supply chain supervision process optimization, risk supervision optimization, and system order degree optimization. First of all, the framework adopts the national certification center to supervise the logistics service platform and logistics service platform to supervise the logistics participants of the secondary supervision system. Then, functions such as swarm intelligence contract, (...)
