    Immortality Revisited.Konstantin Kolenda - 1980 - Philosophy and Literature 4 (2):167-179.
In lieu of an abstract, here is a brief excerpt of the content:Konstantin Kolenda IMMORTALITY REVISITED In his essay, "Poets and Thinkers: Their Kindred Roles in the Philosophy of Martin Heidegger," J. Glenn Gray points out that Heidegger "does not treat imaginative literature and other works of art qua literature and art but as aspects of philosophy or meditative thought." To Heidegger's question, "How long are we going to prevent ourselves from experiencing the actual as actual?", Gray is inclined to (...)

Organizations and ethical individualism.Konstantin Kolenda (ed.) - 1988 - New York: Praeger.
Lapses in the ethical behavior of individuals can seriously and permanently affect the moral health of an organization. In Organizations and Ethical Individualism, Kolenda's edited volume, this complex problem is treated from a multi-dimensional, interdisciplinary approach; each author considers organizational life from his own professional perspective while maintaining the focus on ethical individualism. This format allows for wide-angled coverage and will thus be useful to a broad range of readers: professionals and students of philosophy, professional ethics, business ethics, social psychology (...)

    2. To use the objective form, "X is the case," is to indicate prima facie that the above rules have been observed in making the assertion and that the hearer is expected to take this for granted. Otherwise, special qualifications are normally added which indicate that the speaker knows of special circumstances which may prevent the hearer from believing X or make him for some reason incapable of following the evidence for X.

Austin's notion of illocutionary force has helped us see that the understanding of utterances must go beyond considerations of meaning and of truth/falsity. The determination of the truth conditions is not always of central interest in determining what is being said. Searle has failed in his attempt to discover what is common to all illocutionary forces, Because in addition to facts we must consider also the "motivational" conditions of an utterance, Which may include purposes, Intentions, Values, And norms. Austin himself (...)

    Unconscious motives and human action.Konstantin Kolenda - 1964 - Inquiry: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Philosophy 7 (1-4):1 – 12.
Our interest in unconscious motives is not only theoretical; it is also practical, moral. Unconscious motives often perform a useful function, but this may be bought at too high a price. Special therapeutic techniques may be needed to liberate a person from the grip of an unconscious motive. Such a liberation is possible because unconscious motives operate within the larger area of conscious self-control. The goal of rational behavior is to enlarge this area of self-control by greater self-knowledge. The limits (...)
