This article compares the poetry of two prominent modern writers: Polish-Jewish poetess Zuzanna Ginczanka, and Ukrainian Lemko poet Bohdan-Ihor Antonych. They are believed to have certain poetic, stylistic, thematic, and literary similarities. The main discourses of their poetic imaginum mundi are studied with the use of a simple formula that includes five components. Tracing the interplay of nature, childhood, religion, and civilization in the development of an image of a holistic personality in their poetry, I analyze their common and differing (...) ideas, images, motifs, and themes. The article also outlines the underlying similarities of both poets, i.e., their otherness, and their references to childhood as a certain place in their poetry. (shrink)

У статті проаналізовано генезу, типологію та організаційні принципи українського жіночого руху в Канаді в період першої та другої хвиль еміграції. Наголошується, що українських жінок Канади до об'єднання спонукала необхідність захищати свої права, боротися із загрозою можливої асиміляції, інтегруватися в поліетнічне канадське суспільство. Показано, що у 20-30 рр. ХХ ст. українки Канади розгорнули активну роботу щодо створення організаційних основ жіночого руху - жіночих товариств та організацій. На основі фактологічного матеріалу проаналізовано процес створення українських жіночих організацій, розкрита їхня роль у громадсько-політичній та (...) культурно-освітній діяльності української громади. Констатується, що формування перших жіночих організацій українок Канади відбувалося на базі політичних партій та найпотужніших релігійних конфесій. (shrink)

У статті розглянуто процеси розгортання політичної боротьби у вищій школі УСРР на початку 1920-х рр., встановлені форми, методи й засоби підкорення студентського загалу комуністичному впливу, вивчені обставини формування, діяльності та ліквідації Центрального бюро комуністичного студентства та місцевих бюро у великих студентських центрах. Доведено, що Центральне бюро комуністичного студентства та місцеві бюро комуністичного студентства, з одного боку, мали статус самодіяльних формувань, а з іншого, їх члени ставали партійними функціонерами - входили до складу організаційно-інструкторських відділів ЦК КПУ та відповідних губкомів Комуністичної партії (...) й отримували там заробітну плату. Тому, по-перше, ця організаційна побудова дублювала звичайну систему партійного підпорядкування, по-друге, керувати роботою партосередків ВНЗ ЦБКС та місцеві бюро мали право тільки через ЦК КПУ та відповідні райкоми партії, по-третє, у процесі керівництва роботою комуністичних сил ВНЗ ці паралельні гілки партійної влади неминуче мали зікнутися з низкою суттєвих протиріч, що фактично й відбувалось уже на початку їх спільної діяльності. Зазначено, що створення ЦБКС і місцевих бюро комуністичного студентства було викликане бажанням вищого партійного керівництва перекласти відповідальність за ліквідацію автономії ВНЗ, встановлення в інститутах і технікумах тоталітарної системи та розгортання політичних репресій на самих студентів та їх самодіяльні організації. The article is dedicated to the issues of physical, infectious and mental health of Ukrainian students in the 1920-th years, and analyzes the factors that directly make worse this condition. Separately we explore issues of power to prevent sexually transmitted epidemics, epidemics of typhoid, tuberculosis and other diseases. We also study such factors that have caused students' diseases as housing insecurity, lack of funds for the existence and complete lack of moral prohibitions- because of a radical change in the value (...) of personality after the revolution and the civil war. The article reveals the features of the contemporary periodicals conceptual sphere for women and men (based on examples from magazines of all-Ukrainian and regional purposes. The study made it possible to determine which interpretations of the concepts of "woman" and "man" can be found on the pages of modern gender-labeled periodicals, and thus analyze in detail the gender conceptual sphere through the prism of the specific characteristics of the concepts. The features of the use of gender concepts in modern periodicals (...) for women and men were determined. The most frequently used derivatives of these macroconcepts were identified and analyzed in detail. It has been found that publications for women and men are full of various gender concepts that are used in different contexts. In general, the analysis of the concept-maximums and concept-minimums of gender and their characteristics is carried out in the context of gender stereotypes that have been formed and function in the society, systematizing the actual presentations.
