El presente ensayo se ocupa de la concepción de la psykhé en Platón e poner de relieve la contradicción que subyace en las diferentes formas en que el autor trata la naturaleza de la misma en los diálogos del Fedón y de la República. Una de las nociones clave para entender el salto que da Platón del alma simple al alma com-puesta es la alteración en el concepto de stásis (conflicto). Dicho salto dará lugar a una concepción diferente de la (...) psykhé provocando una escisión entre dichos diálogos en cuanto a la inmortalidad del alma, dejando abiertas diferentes posibilidades de interpretación e impidiendo una sólida conclusión que permita afirmar qué le ocurre al alma después de la muerte del cuerpo. The Social Sciences, as any field of the knowledge, renew its concepts and theoretical tools to adapt them to the present. Nevertheless, this type of changes also can answer to ideological interests. This essay investigates the declivity of an essential concept inside the social analysis, which is actually the declivity of the whole approach, the Marxism, without which still today it turns out almost impossible to realize a critical study of the society.

¿Cuál es la relación entre Derecho y confianza? ¿y cómo puede el Derecho favorecer la confianza social “adecuada”? El libro de Tommaso Greco sobre La legge della fiducia ofrece una respuesta a tales cuestiones y propone una revisión del “maquiavelismo jurídico”, entendido como el paradigma jurídico clásico. En este trabajo, a partir de la lectura de dicha obra, se plantean algunas reflexiones sobre dicha relación y se hace una crítica del planteamiento “principialista” del autor.

ObjectivesWorking-age cancer patients face barriers to resuming work after treatment completion. Those resuming work contend with reduced productivity arising from persisting residual symptoms. Existing studies of return to work after cancer diagnosis were done predominantly in Western countries. Given that employment and RTW in cancer survivors likely vary regionally due to healthcare provision and social security differences, we documented rates and correlates of RTW, work productivity, and activity impairment among Chinese cancer survivors in Hong Kong at one-year post-treatment.MethodsOf 1,106 cancer (...) patients assessed at six-months post-cancer treatment, 593 previously worked; detailed work status, psychological distress, physical symptom distress, supportive care needs, health-related quality of life, and illness perception were assessed. Six months later, work productivity and activity impairment were assessed. Descriptive analyses examined RTW rate. Fully adjusted regressions determined RTW, work productivity, and activity impairment predictors.ResultsAt baseline, 39% were working, 26% on sick leave, and 35% were unemployed. Compared to patients returning to work, unemployed participants were older, likely manual/service-oriented workers, and had lower family income, chemotherapy, fewer unmet health system and information needs, poorer physical functioning, and negative illness perceptions. Sick leave participants were likely service-oriented workers, who had head and neck cancer, chemotherapy, and poor physical functioning. At FU, baseline depressive symptoms, physical symptom distress, and negative illness perceptions predicted presenteeism and work productivity loss; gynecological cancer, fewer unmet health system and information needs, and greater unmet sexuality needs predicted absenteeism; physical symptom distress, negative illness perception, and poor physical functioning predicted activity impairment.ConclusionCancer survivors who had more physically demanding jobs and poorer physical functioning delayed RTW. Unmanaged physical symptom and psychological distress hindered work productivity. (shrink)

The purpose of this study was to examine student perceptions of teaching behavior. Additionally the aim was to examine if teacher characteristics (educational level, gender, and teaching experience) could explain differences in student perceptions of their teachers. Teaching behavior was studied from the research on teaching and teacher effectiveness perspective. Secondary students (N = 7,114), taught by 410 teachers in Spain, participated in the study. Survey data were analyzed using non-parametric tests, Kruskal-Wallis, U Mann-Whitney with Bonferroni correction, and the analysis (...) of effect sizes. Furthermore, a regression model was applied. Results showed that teaching behavior was perceived as sufficient to good, depending on the teaching behavior domain. Results indicated interesting differences between lower secondary education, upper secondary education and vocational education and training teachers. The effect size values (rU statistic) ranged between 0.43 and 0.63, highlighting the significant effect of teachers’ teaching experience on the six teaching skills domains: learning climate, efficient classroom management, clarity of instruction, activating teaching, differentiation, and teaching learning strategies. Those teachers with less teaching experience were the ones who showed higher scores. Findings from the regression model showed that educational level had a significant predictive effect on the six teaching skills domains, mainly for male teachers. However, in several domains female teachers were perceived by students to outperform their male counterparts. (shrink)

تناول هذا الكتاب بالبحث فلسفة ابن رشد (الرشدية) في فكر محمد عابد الجابري، واعتمدت على فرضية مفادها: إن فلسفة ابن رشد(الرشدية) تشكل حجر الزاوية في فكر الجابري، وسعىي إلى استخلاص الرشدية من بين أعماله، وتحليلها وتصنيفها، من خلال الإجابة عن سؤالين أساسيين، وهما: كيف فهم الجابري فلسفة ابن رشد، وقدمها للقارئ العربي؟ وكيف وظف (الرشدية) في أعماله الفكرية والنهضوية؟ من خلال منهجية تحليلية لا تكتفي بالوصف، وإنما تتعدى ذلك لتحليل الرشدية عند الجابري، وتصنيفها، واستخراج ما تتميز به، بتتبعها، وجمعها، وتصنيفها (...) في مختلف أعماله. وخلصت إلى عدد من الاستنتاجات، وأهمها: إن رشدية الجابري تميزت بجمعها بين مستويي الفهم، والتوظيف، ضمن مشروع واحدٍ يصح أن يطلق عليه مشروعٌ تصحيحي يرمي إلى تصحيح الصورة السائدة في الفكر العربي عن ابن رشد وفلسفته، وإن هذا المشروع مسكون من أوله إلى آخره بهمٍّ نهضوي يبحث صاحبه، من خلال التنقيب في التراث الرشدي، عن إجابات لسؤال النهضة والتقدم، وبينت أن فكر ابن رشد، هو الذي يصلح بين كل هذا التراث، ليعيش معنا واقعنا اليوم، والجابري بذلك لا يدعو إلى إرجاع عقارب الساعة إلى الوراء أبدا، وتبني المحتوى العرفي للرشدية، في الفلسفة، أو الطبيعة، أو الفلك، أو الطب؛ لعدم إمكانية استعادته؛ لإنه أصبح جزءا من الماضي، وما يدعو له الجابري هو استعادة المضمون الايديولوجي لفلسفة ابن رشد، أو أسماها "الروح الرشدية" التجديدية، والعقلانية في التعامل مع واقعنا الراهن، وقضايانا المعاصرة.
