Das Buch präsentiert zwei sehr unterschiedliche Textformate: eine Forschungsarbeit von 1974 zur «Patriotischen Gesellschaft in Bern», die jetzt erstmalig gedruckt vorliegt, und eine vorläufige Dokumentation zum Anteil des Basler Ratsherrn Isaak Iselin (1728-1782) an der europäischen Geschichtsphilosophie. Iselin war Gründungsmitglied der Berner Gesellschaft und Autor der ersten deutschsprachigen Geschichtsphilosophie. Die gegenseitige Bezugnahme der beiden Studien zum «Ursprung» des geschichtsphilosophischen Denkens und dem simultanen Beginn der Patriotischen Gesellschaften am Beispiel der Berner zeigt vor allem eins: Sie macht den Anspruch jener Aufklärer (...) plausibel, die theoretische Entwürfe mit der sozioökonomischen Praxis im Bestreben um politische Reformen verbunden wissen wollten. The interpretation of the philosophical thought of Karl Marx given in the second half of the twentieth century canonically distinguishes between the works of the youth period and those of the maturity. Even if only a few interpreters have supported the thesis of the existence of “two Marx”, one opposed to the other, the attention given to some posthumous writings inevitably led to neglect the writings of the younger Marx. However, the years spent in Berlin are decisive, both for the (...) experience gained alongside the young Hegelians and for the discovery of philosophy and philology. It is precisely from the preparatory work of the doctoral dissertation that Marx's great interest in classical philosophy and philology emerges. The concept of Selbstbewußtsein, inspired by Epicurus and his philosophy of the nature, allows us to recover the centrality of the human being in all phases of Marx's production and in his approachs to philosophy, sociology, political economy. The first part shows that the contemporary "Sprachanalytische" interpretation of Aristotle is based on neopositivism and therefore distorts Aristotle. The second part uses the frequently recurring "anthropos anthropon genna" formula to show that he held principles to be actual entities constituting the reality of things.--J. J.
