Tato studie ("K pojmu "přirozeného zákona" - bytí lidsky jsoucího - v Hobbesově filosofii") je dodatkem k mým studiím o vývoji pojmu zákona (bytí jsoucího) v klasické novověké filosofii. Jaké je místo pojmu "přirozeného zákona" (bytí lidsky jsoucího) v Hobbesově filosofii ve vývoji pojmu zákona (bytí jsoucího) v klasické novověké filosofii? Jestliže Hobbesův pojem "přirozeného zákona" (bytí lidsky jsoucího) je pojmem mravního zákona (bytí lidsky jsoucího), jak Hobbes sám tvrdí, neznamená to např., že Hobbesův pojem "přirozeného zákona" (bytí lidsky jsoucího) (...) předjímá Kantův pojem mravního zákona (bytí lidsky jsoucího)? V této studii je určen Hobbesův pojem "přirozeného zákona" (bytí lidsky jsoucího), a to určením Hobbesovy koncepce bytostného zdroje, (obsažné) bytnosti, (bytostné) formy a platnosti (závaznosti) "přirozeného zákona" (bytí lidsky jsoucího. "Přirozený zákon" (bytí lidsky jsoucího) podle Hobbese lze formulovat takto: Jednej tak, abys vždy zachoval život svůj i život jiných lidí. Pokud zachovat život svůj i život jiných lidí předpokládá zachovat mír mezi lidmi (v lidské společnosti), je-li to možné, a není-li možné zachovat mír mezi lidmi (v lidské společnosti), předpokládá to hledat spojence k boji proti nepřátelům, potud lze "přirozený zákon" (bytí lidsky jsoucího) podle Hobbese formulovat takto: Je-li to možné, jednej tak, abys vždy zachoval mír mezi lidmi (v lidské společnosti); není-li možné zachovat mír mezi lidmi (v lidské společnosti), hledej spojence k boji proti nepřátelům. V této studii je určen též Hobbesův pojem (státo-právně) společenského zákona (bytí lidsky jsoucího), a to určením bytostného zdroje, (obsažné) bytnosti, (bytostné) formy a platnosti (závaznosti) (státo-právně) společenského zákona (bytí lidsky jsoucího), jakož i jeho koncepce vztahu mezi "přirozeným zákonem" (bytí lidsky jsoucího) a (státo-právně) společenským zákonem (bytí lidsky jsoucího). Dále pak Hobbesův pojem "přirozeného zákona" (bytí lidsky jsoucího), Hobessův pojem (státo-právně) společenského zákona (bytí lidsky jsoucího), jakož i jeho koncepce vztahu mezi "přirozeným zákonem" (bytí lidsky jsoucího) a (státo-právně) společenským zákonem (bytí lidsky jsoucího), jsou podrobeny kritice. Hlavní body kritiky, jíž jsou podrobeny, jsou tyto: 1. Hobbesův pojem "přirozeného zákona" (bytí lidsky jsoucího) se liší od pojmu mravního zákona (bytí lidsky jsoucího), protože není založen na eticko-praktickém rozumu, a proto nemá formu kategorického imperativu; má formu hypotetického imperativu a je založen na vitálně praktickém rozumu: to znamená, že Hobbesův pojem "přirozeného zákona" (bytí lidsky jsoucího) musí být odlišný od pojmu mravního zákona (bytí lidsky jsoucího). (Zachovat vždy lidský život není vždy totéž co sloužit vždy lidskému bytí.) 2. "Přirozený zákon" (bytí lidsky jsoucího) podle Hobbese je reprezentován (státo-právně) společenským zákonem (bytí lidsky jsoucího); avšak být reprezentován zde podle Hobbese je totéž co být eliminován: člověk jako občan státu je vázán pouze (státo-právně) společenským zákonem (bytí lidsky jsoucího), člověk jako občan státu tedy není (již) vázán "přirozeným zákonem" (bytí lidsky jsoucího), jenž ve státo-právní lidské společnosti (v lidské společnosti ve formě státu a práva) byl eliminován. Z toho vyplývá: jestliže Hobbesův pojem "přirozeného zákona" (bytí lidsky jsoucího) není pojmem mravního zákona (bytí lidsky jsoucího), navzdory tomu, co Hobbes sám tvrdí, pak to znamená, že Hobbesův pojem "přirozeného zákona" (bytí lidsky jsoucího) nepředjímá ani Kantův pojem mravního zákona (bytí lidsky jsoucího). Konec konců odtud vyplývá: tato studie ("K pojmu "přirozeného zákona" - bytí lidsky jsoucího - v Hobbesově filosofii"), jež je dodatkem k mým studiím o vývoji pojmu zákona (bytí jsoucího) v klasické novověké filosofii, ukazuje a dokazuje, že místo pojmu "přirozeného zákona" (bytí lidsky jsoucího) v Hobbesově filosofii ve vývoji pojmu zákona (bytí jsoucího) v klasické novověké filosofii je místem jednoho pojmu přírodního zákona (bytí lidsky jsoucího) mezi jinými pojmy přírodního zákona (bytí přírodního jsoucího); to znamená, že rozdíl tohoto pojmu přírodního zákona (bytí lidsky jsoucího) mezi jinými pojmy přírodního zákona (bytí přírodního jsoucího) je rozdílem jejich bytné sféry: jeho bytnou sférou není ani "svět přírody" jako takový ani "svět svobody" jako takový, nýbrž lidský přírodní svět, resp. svět lidské přírody. The Birkhoff-Maltsev problem asks for a characterization of those lattices each of which is isomorphic to the lattice L(K) of all subquasivarieties for some quasivariety K of algebraic systems. The current status of this problem, which is still open, is discussed. Various unsolved questions that are related to the Birkhoff-Maltsev problem are also considered, including ones that stem from the theory of propositional logics.

Theories of discursive genres provide the philosophical and theoretical framework for the empirical examination of the ways in which immigrant women construct their cultural identities in contexts of violence. The claim of the paper is that the analytical genres of confessional and testimonial discourse enable the examination of the particular ways by which immigrant women both reproduce and resist power and violence.

ABSTRACT Neoliberalism is a pervasive hegemonic phenomena that manifests in variegated ways which can be associated with the numerous trajectories that it undertakes as it pervades various geographical contexts. This paper examines the metaphorical representations of neoliberal logics in the Singapore higher education context with the aim of elucidating how neoliberalism is applied towards particular objectives that are deemed as necessary and relevant by the Singapore state. The paper focuses specifically on the discourse of future-orientedness as state-sanctioned neoliberal ideal and (...) utilises conceptual metaphor theory, in particular metaphor scenarios, to show how the discourse of future-orientedness is represented under the associated theme of being ready to face/facing challenges. Corporate newsletters from two Singapore universities, NUS and SMU, with their varied institutional backgrounds, are utilised for the analysis. What emerges from the analysis is a representation of the ideal neoliberal subject as agent, with characteristics of preparedness, being well-equipped, and possession of the ability to embrace change and move forward into an unknown, possibly adverse future. This representation is then linked to the specific context of Singapore, with its particular contextual factors that have enabled the entrenchment of particular types of hegemonic neoliberal logics as neoliberal ideal valorised by the state. This study investigated the roles of the executive functions of inhibition and switching, and of verbal and visuo-spatial working memory capacities, in insight and non-insight tasks. A total of 18 insight tasks, 10 non-insight tasks, and measures of individual differences in working memory capacities, switching, and inhibition were administered to 120 participants. Performance on insight problems was not linked with executive functions of inhibition or switching but was linked positively to measures of verbal and visuo-spatial working memory capacities. Non-insight task (...) performance was positively linked to the executive function of switching (but not to inhibition) and to verbal and visuo-spatial working memory capacities. These patterns regarding executive functions were maintained when the insight and non-insight composites were split into verbal and spatial insight and non-insight composite scores. The results are discussed in relation to dual processing accounts of thinking. (shrink)

This study aims to create an integrated geographical information system database of natural resources represented by mining activities in the Red Sea area in Sudan. GIS is a vital tool to help the decision-makers in managing and classifying these resources in terms of quantity and quality within the concept of sustainable development. The paper extracts some models of investment map indicators. In addition to that, it conducts a study and research aimed at developing a mineral resources management and discovering and (...) identifying the new areas of mineral wealth in GIS database. The motivation of this study stems from the fact that countries with these types of wealth can greatly grow their gross domestic product through the optimum management and governance. Most of the least development countries can focus on the search for alternative natural resources to support their economy. Red Sea region is one of the great regions full of natural and mineral resources, beside its strategic location on the way of most of the global trade transaction path. This paper designs and implements GIS multiple database layers. The multiple layers were modelled to overcome the technical difficulties that result from processing of large quantities of tempospatial information. The database was built by using an Oracle database system due to its capability of multilayer design. (shrink)
