The central task of the book is to compare and contrast the model of time as comprised of discrete instants and the model of time as a continuum. The first half of the book develops axiomatic and algebraic interconnections between "point structures" and "period structures"; the second half explores the connections between propositional tense logics in the tradition of A.N. Prior and the associated point and period models. Both the author's fine style and the publisher's excellent layout and typefaces contribute (...) to making this a particularly pleasant, readable volume.
