Actor and Institutional Dynamics in the Development of Multi-stakeholder Initiatives.Anica Zeyen, Markus Beckmann & Stella Wolters - 2016 - Journal of Business Ethics 135 (2):341-360.
As forms of private self-regulation, multi-stakeholder initiatives have emerged as an important empirical phenomenon in global governance processes. At the same time, MSIs are also theoretically intriguing because of their inherent double nature. On the one hand, MSIs spell out CSR standards that define norms for corporate behavior. On the other hand, MSIs are also the result of corporate and stakeholder behavior. We combine the perspectives of institutional theory and club theory to conceptualize this double nature of MSIs. Based on (...)

Disabled at Work: Body-Centric Cycles of Meaning-Making.Anica Zeyen & Oana Branzei - 2023 - Journal of Business Ethics 185 (4):767-810.
A 22-month longitudinal study of (self)employed disabled workers (_Following the preference of the lead author who identifies as disabled, the linguistic self-presentation by our participants, the precedent of _(Hein and Ansari, Academy of Management Journal 65:749–783, 2022)_, and the clarification note included in Jammaers & Zanoni’s recent review of ableism _(Jammaers and Zanoni, Organization Studies 42:429–452, 2021)_, we chose, and consistently use, the term “disabled employees” throughout the paper. We do so to underscore the premise of the social model of (...)

Mity model: Tetranychus urticae, a candidate for chelicerate model organism.Miodrag Grbic, Abderrahman Khila, Kwang-Zin Lee, Anica Bjelica, Vojislava Grbic, Jay Whistlecraft, Lou Verdon, Maria Navajas & Lisa Nagy - 2007 - Bioessays 29 (5):489-496.
Chelicerates (scorpions, horseshoe crabs, spiders, mites and ticks) are the second largest group of arthropods and are of immense importance for fundamental and applied science. They occupy a basal phylogenetic position within the phylum Arthropoda, and are of crucial significance for understanding the evolution of various arthropod lineages. Chelicerates are vectors of human diseases, such as ticks, and major agricultural pests, such as spider mites, thus this group is also of importance for both medicine and agriculture. The developmental genetics of (...)

We discuss some questions related to a possible theory of quasiobjects, that is, objects for which the standard identity conditions should nothold. Since the main motivation for such a theory is quantum mechanics, the discussion is posed with this intended (...)

  9. A Natureza Ama Esconder-se? Ensaio Sobre “nature Loves To Hide”.Jonas Arenhart - 2010 - Manuscrito 33 (1):381-391.
Quantum mechanics raises deep questions about our conceptionof reality. In this essay we discuss a possible solution proposed by ShimonMalin in his book Nature Loves to Hide to some of these diculties. Firstlywe discuss Malin's exposition about how the quantum theory entails a deeprevision of our conception of reality, overthrowing some kinds of realism. Here, the main focus is quantum mechanics' violation of Bell's inequalities. After that, we briey present the author's proposal of a new conception ofreality grounded in some relations he (...)
