Mit seiner ontologisch-erkenntnistheoretischen Programmschrift verfolgt Meinong (1853-1920) das Ziel, der gegenstandstheoretischen "Betrachtungsweise durch Darlegung ihrer Eigenart zu ausdrücklicher Anerkennung zu verhelfen" und ihr "die neue Position einer eigenen und namentlich der Psychologie gegenüber selbständigen philosophischen Disziplin zu sichern." Die dem Band beigegebene Selbstdarstellung skizziert die wesentlichen Stadien von Meinongs philosophischer Entwicklung.

Über Gegenstandstheorie: In this classic paper from 1904, Alexius Meinong argues that a mental state must be about something in order to be a mental state, so since we can have mental states about non-existing things, there must be such non-existing things. The paper appears here in Norwegian translation for the first time.
