Abstract Hannah Arendt frequently referred to herself as a phenomenologist in that she wished to reveal how action, in the Greek sense of praxis, engenders a public space of appearances or of phenomenality. The life of the Greek city?state, of the polis, was made possible through this activity, this bios politikos. However, beginning with Plato and continuing right down to Hegel and Heidegger, there has been a sustained attempt to cover up and conceal the specific phenomenality of the bios politikos (...) in favour of the bios theoretikos, involving the substitution of poiesis and theoria for the life of praxis. At the roots of this concealment of the active life is a misunderstanding of the true nature of the theoretical and its highest form, namely, thinking. (shrink)

Le présent ouvrage est une lecture généalogique des versions successives de l'interrogation que Heidegger consacra à l'origine de l'œuvre d'art à l'époque de sa compromission la plus manifeste avec le nazisme. Comme cette compromission se déclarait justifiée non par l'idéologie officielle mais par des arguments strictement philosophiques, elle invite à s'enquérir des sources qu'avait pareille justification d'une part dans les travaux antérieurs du philosophe, notamment dans Sein und Zeit, et d'autre part dans la mémoire qu'il avait, immense mais très sélective, (...) de l'histoire de la philosophie depuis les Grecs jusqu'à Nietzsche. Jacques Taminiaux met en contraste deux approches philosophiques de l'art et du politique : l'approche spéculative, celle de Platon chez les Anciens et de Hegel chez les Modernes, et l'approche judicative, celle d'Aristote chez les Anciens et de Kant chez les Modernes. La première approche, célébrée par Heidegger, réserve au philosophe le privilège d'une vue de dernière instance sur l'art et le politique. El tema que desarrollaré está basado en una observación estrictamente histórica: repetidas veces los más grandes filósofos alemanes han tratado a las tragedias griegas como si éstas fueran documentos metafísicos. En Schelling, Hegel, Schopenhauer, Nietzsche y Heidegger, la tragedia es interpretada como si fuera, de una manerao de otra, una introducción a la metafísica: como si fuera una expresión de la esencia y del fundamento del ser como un todo. A pesar de lo diferentes que puedan ser sus interpretaciones de (...) la esencia y del fundamento - identidad entre libertad y necesidad, espíritu absoluto,voluntad, verdad como alétheia (desocultamiento)- todas ellas tienen esto en común: para todas ellas la tragedia es la voz del ser. La palabra areté no figura en Ser y tiempo, que sin embargo usa un gran número de términos griegos. Según el índice más reciente, las lecciones de Marburgo, que marcan la génesis del libro de 1927, no la utilizan tampoco aún cuando ellas tratan de textos griegos en los que el uso de la palabra areté es frecuente. Solamente el curso de 1924 sobre El Sofista de Platón utiliza la palabra, aunque muy escasamente,en su introducción que trata sobre la Ética (...) a Nicómaco. By dint of denouncing, as the central thread of this long history, the persistence or recurrence of an ambition to totalization, he would have failed to recognize the diversity of steps articulated along its course, thus ceding to the very thing he placed in question — the prestige of the same — to the detriment of the alterity of the other. Hannah Arendt s’est imposée comme un penseur politique de premier plan en 1951 par son étude des Origines du totalitarisme. L’auteur de l’article qui suit a tenté de montrer dans divers travaux, à commencer par La Fille de Thrace et le Penseur professionnel 1, que dans ses analyses de la vie active et de la vie de l’esprit, Arendt poursuit un débat constant avec Heidegger dont elle avait été l’élève à Marbourg avant la publication de Sein und Zeit.
