Symbolism of Russian icon painting

Abstract

Considered the features of the symbolism of iconography as the first stage of Russian religious art. The symbolism of the Russian icon appears in the color scheme, due to national traditions, in the fullness of icons allegories related to the distinction iconographic type, as well as in the complex theological and philosophical reading of icons. The symbolism of the Russian icons fully reflect the peculiarities of Russian culture.
