Abstract

Western Marxist philosopher Ernst Bloch • "hope principle" is to understand the thinking of one of the main text. But not enough to grasp the characteristics of the text makes this book a long time, like heavenly general no solution. The paper believes that only understand "hope principle" of "epic" characteristics and "fragmentation" of features, it may enter the Bloch this book. Regardless of Bloch's life or "hope principle" of the ideological content, text structure or the ethos, are associated with the Homeric epics are numerous. The conscious use of Bloch's fragmented writing strategies, but also makes the "hope principle" to become an anti-system philosophy. Das Prinzip Hoffnung is one of the most important works of Ernst Bloch, a famous German neo-Marxist philosopher. But reviewers complain this work is too mystierious and esoteric. My opinion is that two features of Das Prinzip Hoffnung make it nearly an unreadable text. Firstly, both Bloch's life story and the contents, text structure, or ethos of Das Prinzip Hoffnung have relations to Homer's epics. Secondly, Bloch's intentional use of fragments writing strategy shapes Das Prinzip Hoffnung into a counter-philosophical-system masterpiece
