Abstract

John Witherspoon (1723-1794) delivered these lectures at the College of New Jersey (later known as Princeton) in the 1770s. They offer significant insights into the intellectual currents of revolutionary America, such as Calvinist theology, moral sense theory, Lockean and Scottish Common Sense epistemology, and Whiggish political thought.
