Abstract

There are many contradictions in the process of development of a complex thing. The development of contradictions is uneven, and so is the development of the contradictory aspects of a contradiction. Among a number of contradictions, there is the difference between the principal contradiction and the secondary contradictions, and between the contradictory aspects of a contradiction there is the difference between the principal and secondary aspects. These two differences also fall into the category of the particularity of contradiction. In "On Contradiction," Chairman Mao has devoted a special chapter to a profound discussion of this issue.
