Abstract

The Print as Righteous Image attempts to explain the origin of righteous imagery through the writer's personal reflection and lifelong involvement with the print medium. The writer explains the importance of the printmaking medium and why it has developed as an instrument for change. The print medium is inherently endowed with art–making techniques that foster a forum of inclusion. The writer ponders the question of whether there is something intrinsic to the historic nature of printmaking that encourages a radical approach to image -making.
