For permissions, please e-mail: [email protected] Wolf's recent collection of essays, The Variety of Values, makes clear that she is a hedgehog in Isaiah Berlin's well-known sense of the term. That is, she is engaged with an overarching problematic rather than a series of disconnected inquiries. The reader is presented with a rich tapestry of interwoven motifs that offer a complex portrait of the mind of an important figure in contemporary moral philosophy. The greatest virtue of this volume lies in the Gestalt that emerges from essays written over the course of a fruitful philosophical career.
