Abstract

O homem, para Epicteto, é sempre afetado pelo mundo que o cerca. Se nãopolicia os sentimentos não ama, se aprisiona. O estoicismo de Epicteto exigea libertação espiritual do homem a fim de que ele possa saber amar comdesprendimento.Man, for Epictet, is always affected by the world that surrounds him. If unableto harness his feelings, man cannot love, but only be held arrested. Thestoicism of Epictet demands for man’s spiritual liberation in order to make itpossible for him to love freely
