Abstract

Where exactly in the brain is the thought of the ocean? Where the image of the horizon, the sound of the waves and the taste of salt water? Where exactly is the memory of a sunny day at the beach, and where the feeling of lightheartedness? In other words: How does one get from mere brain activity, even in principle, to something so different as subjective experience and consciousness? To answer this question, C-Pattern Theory introduces a new approach and suggests an elegant explanation. But that is not all.
