This volume is an introduction to the subject of guilt in the light of present day philosophic and psychoanalytic thought. The author presents a sweeping account of guilt "in the subject," the guilt "of the subject," guilt in relation to morality and in relation to the feeling of guilt in the psychological domain, guilt as illusion, and guilt as reality.-R.
