Abstract

This article aims to discuss the political philosophy of liberalism, from the critical analyses presented by Schmitt and Hegel The former bases his criticism on the perspective of "political existentialism"; the latter argues on the basis of the rationality of the modern State. Both stress the positive value of the State and criticize the negation of the politician which is advocated by liberalism.O artigo pretende apresentar a filosofia política do liberalismo a partir das análises críticas de Schmitt e de Hegel. O primeiro fundamenta sua crítica de um ponto de vista do "existencialismo político"; o segundo, com base na racionalidade do Estado moderno. Ambos ressaltam o valor positivo do Estado e criticam a negação do político operada pelo liberalismo
