Abstract

The subject of production, dissemination, disclosure and understanding sound is considered one of the most important and more or less complex phenomena of nature; for this reason, fewer scientists in ancient and middle civilization have properly dealt with it. Qorazeye Tabiiyyat which is attributed to Ibn Sina is some passages in the form of questions and answers has discussed this most important topic. By studying the background of sound in the ideas and theories of ancient scientists and reappraisal of the context of Ibn Sina’s ideas concerning the phenomenon of sound, scientific points included in the theory of Ibn Sina is explained in modern scientific language and on the basis of formulations and principle of contemporary physics. Ibn Sina has been quite aware of some of the principles of the dissemination of wave sound and given the examples which he offers it is clear that he has been conscious of the nature of wave sound and the way of its dissemination in solid and liquid material as well.
