Abstract

I can't recall how long it has been since I exercised my sacred right to vote. I have never had the opportunity to vote as a citizen of the People's Republic of China, as a member of various renowned mass organizations and associations, or as a member of the Chinese Communist Party. Since my vote!—the sole expression of my individual opinion—carries absolutely no weight in these bodies, why should I waste time and energy on taking part in the charade of official elections?
