Abstract

In addition to presenting explanatory models of cognitive abilities, another important goal of this volume is to examine some questions that give rise to fundamental philosophical issues for the Cognitive Science: we cannot easily overlook the ‘intrinsic’ philosophical difficulties involved in the studies of human mind. That´s why the volume includes philosophical papers of particular interest for psychologists, computer scientists, and linguists. In sum, this book is a collection of papers written from a multidisciplinar, cognitive perspective, and addressing various essential topics such as: (1) Decision Making and Social Action; (2) Evolution, Modularity, and Mind; (3) Intentions in Communication; and (4) Relevant Information, Attention, and Learning by Doing.
