Abstract

Im Denken Nietzsches stellt der Begriff des intellektuellen Gewissens die äußerste Konsequenz der europäischen Moral dar und paradoxiert sie zugleich. Dieser Begriff kann somit nicht bloß als Ausdruck der Verehrung des alten moralischen Ideals verstanden werden, sondern sollte bei Nietzsche gerande die Ummöglichkeit einer allgemeingültigen moralisch richtenden Instanz demonstrieren. um dies nachzuweisen, wird in der Abhandlung ein weiterer Begriff untersucht, in dem der des Gewissens tief verwrzelt ist - der Begriff des Glaubens. Seine christlich-reformatorische Deutung und seine Umdeutung in der Moralphilosophie Kants zeigen sich als Tragödie der verzweifelten Suche nach Sicherheit im Füwahrhalten. Den neuen Mut zur Ungewissheit in sich zu entdecken und den tiesfsten Wünschen "des Herzen" zu widerstehen wird Nietzsche hingegen zum Gebot der neuen, fröhlichen Weisheit.The concept of "intellectual conscience" is for Nietzsche the end product of European mortality and exhibitis that morality's paradoxial nature. Nietzche's notion cannot however be regarded as an expression of an adoration of the old moral ideal. It should on the contrary show the impossibility that a single system of moral evaluation can be valid for all. In order to demonstrate this, the article deals with another notion - the notion of faith/belief - which is implied by the notion of conscience. Its Christian-protestant interpretation and its reinterpretation in Kantian moral philosophy reveal the tragedy of a desperate search for the guarantee of the holding-for-true. The task to discover a new courage for the unknown, the courage to side against the deepest wishes of "the heart" is presented by Nietzsche as a command of a new, joyful wisdom
