Abstract

The text introduces the concept of transduction both as physical/technical process and as a topic for theoretical reflection. Initially, transduction is described as a physical/technical process, being emphasized its role in technologies related to the sciences and to the sound practices since the 19th century. In a second moment, the concept is explored from its philosophical enquire by Gilbert Simondon and other thinkers. At the end, I emphasize the relevance of further considerations of this concept/phenomena in sonology.
