Abstract

A comparative analysis of the Middle Eastern and Malay Islamic literatures shows that in both traditions, there is an emphasis on morality and good values. However, the discussion on Islamic literature in the Middle East is more philosophically-rooted compared to the Malay literature which is in tune with Malay tradition and is focussed on the daily necessities of life.
