Abstract

My project analyzes the relationship between morality and art. This project distinguishes itself from recent attempts at understanding that relationship by focusing on theatre, which has been largely neglected in this vein. I articulate an original theory of theatre, focusing specifically on the characteristic that distinguishes theatre from other narrative arts, namely, its liveness. I also contribute to the current debate in analytic philosophy of art on the connections between moral and aesthetic value
