Abstract

Following previous studies of Vanucci, Petracchi, Lesen, Alippi, and Santini on Pascoli the present work is devoted to describing the college years of the poet in the city of Urbino. The author compiled his data from the Archives of the Liceo Raffaello where the poet studied, from the writings on education by Pascoli's masters, especially Father Serfieri, and also from the later correspondence of the poet. All this sheds some new light on his works inspired by Urbino. The Appendix contains a few interesting letters of Pascoli to his friends in Urbino.—O. P. V.
