Abstract

The article raises an objection against michael dummett's defence of frege's thesis that incomplete expressions refer to concepts. Even if dummett has shown that predicates refer to concepts, He has not shown that the concepts referred to exist. Although dummett tries to justify the claim that concepts exist, The sense of 'exist' in this claim is not the customary one but is introduced by mere stipulation. Furthermore, Even if 'concepts exist' is true, It can be argued on fregean grounds that it ascribes existence only to fregean objects, Not to concepts
