Abstract

The ethical methods of Francis Greenwood Peabody (1847-1936) laid the foundations for a new normative-descriptive area of study in Christian social ethics. This essay examines and analyzes Peabody's three principal methodological approaches and considers the implications of his ethical work for the discipline of Christian ethics.
