Abstract

The philosophers dispute whether the relation between one and many is gradation or mutual hindrance, and if it is hindrance, what kind of hindrance it is. Essential or accidental? Like Shaykh al- Ishraq, Mulla Sadra also believes that this kind of mutual hindrance should be regarded as the fifth kind of hindrance, since between one and many, each of which negates the other and the origination of each of which annuls the other, we can find a sort of hindrance.
