Abstract

Self-organization characterizes both human nature as a system, and Hume 's science of human nature. The logics which sustains it is identical to the well-established general rules of the understanding. The other systems, the vulgar as well as the philosophical opinions, reveal the propensities of the imagination. Even the ups and downs of Hume 's own ruling passion still feed the science of man.
