Abstract
To meet the challenges arising from global environmental change on human health, co-developing common approaches and new alliances of science and society are necessary. The first steps towards defining cross-cutting, health-environment issues were developed by the Global Environmental Change and Human Health project of the Earth System Sciences Partnership. ESSP plays an important role in stimulating and communicating important scientific and policy relevant findings in science policy dialogues and facilitates collaborative research and capacity building. There are wide opportunities for the GECHH project to collaborate within the ESSP network, its parent Programmas, Core and Joint Projects and also with its associated networks of global and regional environmental change.
