Abstract

This text look at human status in the grand scheme of things. It outlines modern knowledge of the Universe and the billions of years that have borne witness to the evolution of the Earth and the species that have lived upon it. The author challenges creation theories of the ancients, arguing against their supernatural explanations with all the facts and logic of modern thinking. The book takes the reader through the many ages of the Earth and its life forms, from the first single-celled algae to the complex variety of today's world.
