Abstract

Two principles are proposed, which according to the author can help solve conflicts of interests between men and animals: Z1: “Whoever increases probability of causing pain to others should by the same fraction increase the probability of his suffering comparable pain”, and Z2: “If the product of the probability of causing same pain and the amount of that pain is constant for two acts it is morally irrelevant, which of the two acts is performed”.
