Abstract

La question de l’identité personnelle ne peut être prise au sérieux que si, loin de se limiter à une dimension juridique, elle aborde véritablement l’histoire comme la corporéité de la personne. Or c’est là ce qu’a su penser Maine de Biran, mais non Hegel, lors même que ce dernier négligeait la philosophie française.The very issue of personal identity can only be taken seriously if, far from restricting itself to a mere legal dimension, it approaches history as the corporeity of the individual. Now, this is precisely what Maine de Biran was able to perceive, unlike Hegel who then disregarded French philosophy
