Abstract

Porte sur la réception d'une oeuvre fondatrice de l'histoire de l'art : la Geschichte der Kunst des Altertums (1764) de Johann Joachim Winckelmann. Largement diffusée dans l'Europe des Lumières, elle ne fut guère connue qu'en traductions. Or, il est impossible de comprendre l'impact historique d'un texte, sans considérer les modalités matérielles de sa transmission.
